With News Publishers and Social Platforms disregarding local news, it’s more important than ever to have a reliable source of what’s happening in your area. The Markhamite is a curated list of news stories delivered three times a week so you can keep up with what’s happening in your backyard.

This is not hard news; we won’t cover the crime beat.

Instead, we will focus on stories of immediate local impact - civic issues, Climate and the environment, Local businesses, and local events to keep you informed and plugged into where we live. Will we dabble in provincial matters? Only when it fits the context of the impact on our city.

As we grow, we hope to offer this newsletter in the many languages that make up our community.
